McGowan’s Oceanside Tiki Bar & Restaurant has an amazing beachfront view and a relaxed tiki-bar vibe right on the Hollywood Broadwalk. Not sure if it’s the spot to stop for drinks and enjoy the ocean view. The mojito I ordered was $18, which is pretty standard for the area, it tasted like club soda and backyard Rum, not a single green mint in sight or in the drink however I appreciated that no automatic gratuity or tip was added to the bill. Our server (one of the owners) provided really good customer service and was attentive throughout the visit. That said, the ceviche mixto was disappointing and did not taste fresh at all. Unfortunately, it was not worth trying in my opinion. But thanks for removing the I tasteful and not fresh ceviche.

Stopped in for Ceviche and Mojito. Ceviche was not good, shrimp cocktail tossed in but not good was not Ceviche. Mojitos were awful no mint not sure what they poured into it that was green. Told bartender/owner? That would pay for Ceviche but the mojitos were awful and could not drink them. Bartender/owner told us to just leave, I again offered to pay for ceviche and old lady came out the back and started saying we could afford to pay and we were scamming them. Lol, crazy experience but after reading some of the reviews I now understand it wasn’t just our experience. I should have known when they put napkins down and they were dirty that this was going to go south.

Liked the place. I saw people complaining about rude owner, but he was nice and quick and when we asked for receipt, he calculated all in his head, I was really surprised. All the food we ordered was good and the drinks were the best compare to other beach restaurants. We even decided to stop by later but the place was already closed.

The owner is very hospitable and makes great drinks! We visited daily during our trip and come back every year during vacation. The fried fish is grouper and is amazing! I highly recommend stopping by.
